At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the main entrance to Casa Moreiras, one of the oldest wineries in Galicia. Did you know that it dates back to the year 1692?
At this famous wine tourism centre located in the southern area of the province of Lugo, we'll discover the origins and evolution of the wines of the Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin.
When making your booking, you can choose between the following options:
If you choose this option, we'll first take a guided tour of the facilities at the Casa Moreiras Winery. During the tour, we'll travel back in time to the 17th century to see how it all began.
As well as this, we'll learn about the different types of native grapes and discover what are the unique techniques used in caring for the vineyards. We'll also learn about the different wine-making processes.
We'll bring this visit to an end at the old dovecote in the winery. Here, we'll enjoy a tasting of 2 Ribeira Sacra Wines.
With this option, we'll first take a visit to the vineyards in the area. During the tour, we'll learn how to distinguish between the varieties of grapes, we'll learn about the characteristics of Ribeira Sacra lands and discover how the climate contributes to wine production.
After visiting the vineyards, we'll take a guided tour of the Casa Moreiras Winery, as described previously. The tour will come to an end back in the wine-tasting room of the old dovecote of the winery, where we'll enjoy a tasting of 3 Ribeira Sacra wines.
