Discover an incredible steppe area in the province of Granada on our Galera White Desert Jeep Tour. You'll be an expert geologist for a day as you explore this vast landscape and take lots of photos.
At the indicated time, we'll meet on the Iron Bridge in Galera. From there, we'll hop into a jeep and start a unique tour through the white desert in the Granada Geopark.
We'll follow the course of the Guardal River and look out at its beautiful fertile plains as we climb higher and higher towards Los Carriones. During the tour, we'll see some of the plants found in this desert landscape, such as white asphodel, capers, esparto grass and thyme.
You'll also get to visit some of the locations used in the filming of Intemperie, directed by Benito Zambrano. These include Los Amos Cave and the Cortijo de Ros, where we'll be able to see both caves and steep gorges. Keep your eyes peeled for Iberian ibexes and lynxes!
One of the stops on our jeep tour will be the Sismitas de Galera, which are peculiar rock formations created by earthquakes thousands of years ago. We'll also make a stop at the ancient gypsum mines of Castellón Alto to see the deposits and learn why this material holds such importance in Granada.
After an unforgettable jeep tour, we'll take you back to the starting point and finish the activity 4 hours later.
