Discover two of the most important archaeological sites in Veracruz: Quiahuiztlán and Cempoala. In addition, you'll visit La Antigua, the place of residence of Hernán Cortés.
We'll begin our trip by travelling approximately 75 km (46 miles) north of the state to arrive archaeological zone of Quiahuiztlan. This area has been called the"place where the rain rises in the heights". Here we'll find vestiges of the most beautiful pre-Hispanic cemetery of the Totonac culture. There are also remains of pyramids and a ball game where we'll enjoy a splendid panoramic view of the beaches of Villa Rica in the Gulf of Mexico.
After we'll arrive at Cempoala place of "twenty waters" as it is surrounded by rivers of the region. Besides being one of the most important archaeological zones of the state and of the Totonaca culture, we'll see the main buildings such as the Temple of the Chimeneas and these such as the Temple of the Chimneys, the circle of the Gladiators among other pyramidal basements.
We'll then continue on to Antigua, a small town framed by enormous leafy trees on the banks of the Huitzilapan River or Hummingbird River. Here we'll find the legacies of the Spanish conquest, such as the Casa del Cabildo (Town Council House), the Ermitathe first catholic church of Mexico, and the house of Hernan Cortes.
After enjoying this environment and walking along the hanging bridge we'll return you to the city of Veracruz or Boca del Rio. The tour will end after 7 hours after the pickup time.
