Yann Bouchard, a local from the region with a passion for building, came up with the idea of presenting the most beautiful monuments of the Loire Valley as small sculptures in limestone. The sculptor Philippe Cormand created these works, which can be seen today in the museum.
Throughout the visit, information panels will tell you the story that led Yann Bouchard and Philippe Cormand to join forces to create this underground museum in Saumur. Tours Cathedral, The Royal Abbey of Our Lady of Fontevraud, the Castle and Tower of Trèves ... As you walk around the museum see how many of these tiny replicas you recognise!
