At the appointed time we'll meet at the entrance of Quinta de Monteiro de Matos, a family winery where we'll learn all about Portuguese wine.
To begin with, we'll wander the vineyards surrounding the winery and we'll tell you about the characteristics of the grapes grown in the Tagus Region. An oenology expert guide will explain how the vines are cared for during the year until they are harvested.
Afterwards, we'll enter the winery and discover how Quinta de Monteiro de Matos has achieved international fame. They export a whopping 75% of their products internationally. We'll see how the winemaking process works and how the wines are then cared for and stored in special barrels.
Finally, we'll enjoy a tasting of two wines, one white and one red, accompanied by a delicious appetizer consisting of toast, cheese and olive oil. After an hour of this wine experience the visit will come to an end.
